Song Hye Kyo – A Leading Hallyu Star
Song Hye Kyo, born on November 22, 1981, is a South Korean actress. At the age of 14, she started modeling for a school uniform company. She later gained fame for her role in the drama Autumn in My Heart. In 2016, she became well-known across Asia for her portrayal of a doctor in the hit drama Descendants of the Sun.
In 2017, she ranked 7th on Forbes’ list of the most powerful celebrities in South Korea, and in 2018, she moved up to 6th place. She is part of the iconic “The Troika,” alongside Kim Tae-hee and Jun Ji-hyun, collectively referred to as “Tae-Hye-Ji.” The success of her dramas internationally has cemented her status as a leading Hallyu star. After a two-year hiatus, she made her return to the small screen with the romantic drama Encounter (also known as Boyfriend) on tvN, alongside Park Bo-gum.
