Young Actress Helen Vu – A Little Heart Lighting Up the Stage of The Music Garden
Amidst the lively atmosphere of the children’s television program The Music Garden, produced by Ho Chi Minh City Television, the name Helen Vu has quietly captured hearts. In the role of Pink Piggy in the play The Happy Farm, this young actress impressed audiences with her natural performance, expressive charm, and earnest spirit. Behind her radiant smile lies an inspiring and heartfelt journey into the world of performing arts. At just a young age, Helen already boasts several notable achievements, including the Second Prize (national level) in the Video Creation category of the Green Future 2050 competition, and the Most Impressive Contestant title at Little MC Talent Search 2024.
From a Heart of Kindness to the Stage Lights
Vu Thao Gia Han, known by her stage name Helen Vu, did not arrive at the arts through glamorous dreams, but through a deeply meaningful experience. In May 2024, Helen participated in the photo exhibition Glass Fairy, organized by the Scrap Fabric Project community. There, she modeled recycled outfits to raise awareness about pediatric cancer and environmental protection. After the event, Helen told her parents that she wanted to perform on stage to bring joy and positivity to less fortunate children, offering them hope and strength to fight their illnesses.
Moved by her sincerity, her parents enrolled her in the Ben Thanh Kids arts club. Under the guidance of teacher Tran Bao Dung, Helen began training in singing, dancing, and acting. Over time, she became a familiar face in various children’s shows like Abracadabra, The Music Garden, and TV game shows such as Happy Family and Secret Revealed.
Becoming Pink Piggy – A Small Magical World
In The Happy Farm, Helen plays Pink Piggy, an adorable character with a bit of sass and a lot of heart. Though initially nervous about remembering her lines, Helen grew more confident with help from her fellow actors and the unwavering support of her parents. Each evening, her mother rehearsed the script with her, while her father watched her performances and playfully praised, “Pink Piggy’s tantrums are so cute!”
“When I put on the Pink Piggy costume, I really felt like I was part of the story,” Helen said. “My favorite part was when Pink Piggy joined Grandma, Alex, and the others to stand up to the Professor.” Through this role, Helen learned the importance of listening to grandparents and parents, and the value of love and unity within a family — a gentle yet powerful message delivered through The Music Garden.

Beyond her role as Pink Piggy, Helen Vu is a talented and well-rounded student. With her Second Prize in Green Future 2050 and the title of Most Impressive Contestant at Little MC Talent Search 2024, she proves that artistic passion and creative thinking go hand in hand. She is also consistently recognized as an Outstanding Student in school, balancing her love for the arts with academic excellence.
